Documentaries

The Last Walt

Feature Documentary 1 x 90

Teaser and deck available. 22 minute short to be completed for July 2025.

The Last Walt is a feature-length POV documentary that dives into the fascinating world of given names—and how pop culture, especially Hollywood, shapes the way we feel about them.

At the heart of the film is one name: Walter. Once a popular name, now a punchline, Walter becomes our portal into the powerful intersection of identity, culture, and nomenclature.

Fast-paced and thought-provoking, The Last Walt blends pop analysis with personal reflection to explore why names matter. Why do some names like Jennifer or Mike, give their owners a comfort in conformity, while some oddly named people seem determined to stand out? How do Karen, Becky or Chad become memes representing a swath of people? Using iconic Hollywood Walters and nerdy TV archetypes as a conversation starter, the film playfully unpacks how names gain (and lose) meaning over time.

It’s an entertaining deep-dive into onomastics—the science of naming—that will leave audiences with a fresh appreciation for our names. This is a creative look at how proper names play a role in our lives. It explores how people get names, why they mean so much and what part they play in society.

At its core, The Last Walt is a deeply personal documentary—an exploration of identity, legacy, and cultural perception told through our singular, point of view lens. But rather than take a straightforward, conventional route, we’re embracing a satirical, stylized approach that mirrors the very pop culture forces we’re interrogating.

Run For Your Life

Feature Documentary | 1 X 90′

Humans stood up and began running 4.5 million years ago. Our ability to run long distances allowed us to hunt, survive and flourish. We became the most successful species on the planet, so successful that we no longer needed to run. So we stopped. We’ve become sedentary, obese, disconnected from nature and it’s killing us, literally.

Fifty-three years ago in Munich, Frank Shorter won the Olympic Marathon, helping the world heal from the terrorist attack that happened five days earlier and ushering in a running boom that hasn’t stopped. It’s a multi-billion dollar industry. Today over 55,000 people complete the New York City Marathon. People are running again. It’s the cheapest, most available form of exercise on the planet. Walter Forsyth laces up a pair of sneakers to travel the globe exploring the reasons why people are running for their lives.
