International premiere of Dancing on the Elephant to screen in Competition at the 35th Cinequest Film Festival,
in San Jose, California, March 12 and 14, 2026

(Halifax, NS) – The feature film Dancing on the Elephant, directed by Americans Julia Neil and Jacob Smith starring well known Canadian actors Sheila McCarthy, Mary Walsh and Amanda Brugel, is a story of two women in their twilight years with a friendship forged in the shared determination to age with dignity and humour. The film will have its International premiere at the 35th Cinequest Film Festival with screenings on March 12 and 14.
In Canada, the film had its world premiere at the Atlantic International Film Festival (AIFF) where it won Best Actor and Best Editing and screened at the 39th Edmonton International Film Festival, the 38th Cinefest Sudbury, where we sold out two screenings, the 36th St. John’s Women’s International Film Festival which sold out as well. Upcoming festivals include the 31st Victoria Film Festival (2 sold out screenings) and 24th Available Light Film Festival.
The film is being distributed in Canada by Indiecan Entertainment and is currently seeking US and international sales.
